Welcome to Pastmaps.com ("Pastmaps", "we", "us", "our"), a digital platform dedicated to hosting and providing interactive historical maps to the public. These Terms of Service ("Terms", "ToS") govern your access to and use of the Pastmaps website, services, and products (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old to use Pastmaps. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must use Pastmaps under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.
Description of Service
Pastmaps offers access to a collection of historical maps that are in the public domain or for which we have received permission from the copyright holder to host. Our Service allows users to view, interact with, and learn from these maps. We offer physical reprints of certain maps and paid memberships that provide advanced tools and greater access to our collection.
User Accounts
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Intellectual Property Rights
The maps and content provided through Pastmaps are either in the public domain or are used with permission from the copyright holders. Pastmaps owns all rights, titles, and interests in the Service and our original content, excluding user-generated content (UGC).
User Contributions
Users may soon be able to add their own maps, comments, stories, and images to Pastmaps. By submitting UGC, you grant Pastmaps a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display such content. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to submit the UGC and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights.
Content Usage and Licensing
Users may purchase physical reprints of maps or paid memberships. These purchases are for personal, non-commercial use only, and do not confer any additional rights to the content.
User Conduct
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to infringe on any third-party rights, or to upload any content that is illegal, offensive, or violates these Terms.
Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
Pastmaps provides the Service "as is" and does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content provided. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law. Pastmaps shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pastmaps, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.
Changes to the Service and Terms
Pastmaps reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Service or these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes to the Terms on our website or via email.
Dispute Resolution
