Bonelli Landing serves as a primary access point to the eastern reaches of Lake Mead within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This desert landscape is defined by the submerged canyons and inlets of the Mojave Desert, where the rising waters of the reservoir have created a complex shoreline of coves and basins. To the north, the Virgin Basin opens into wide water, while the eastern shore is characterized by geological formations such as the Gypsum Ledges and Big Gypsum Ledges.
