Mount Baker National Forest dominates the high-elevation landscape of this 2017 survey, where the Cascades meet the drainage basins of the South Fork Nooksack River. The terrain is defined by a series of prominent peaks and high basins, including New York Mtn, Bear Mtn, and the secluded Dailey Prairie. A complex network of watercourses, such as Cavanaugh Creek and Skookum Cr, carves through the forest, feeding into the larger river system to the south and west.
