1999 Map of Copperton

USGS Topo · Published 2001

About this map

The western edge of the Salt Lake Valley transitions from suburban development to heavy industrial extraction in this 1999 revision. The planned community of Copperton sits at the mouth of Bingham Canyon, serving as a residential anchor near the massive Copper Mine operations and associated tailings piles that dominate the Oquirrh Mountains to the west. While residential growth pushes westward into West Jordan and South Jordan, the map preserves deep historical roots at the Fort Herriman Historical Marker and the Bingham City Cem.
