Dutchman Butte and the surrounding high ridges of the Southern Oregon Coast Range define this landscape at the junction of Douglas, Curry, and Josephine Counties. The area's complex geography is mapped through a network of forestry and fire management features, including the Dutchman LO lookout and the remote Calvert Peak Airport. The terrain transitions from the high meadows of Walker Prairie and Jackass Prairie down toward the southern boundary, where the Rogue Wild and Scenic River corridor begins its protected course.
