The high-altitude drainage of the Middle Fork Saguache Cr and S Fork Saguache Cr forms the primary topography of this 2016 survey, where the terrain rises from deep canyons toward the La Garita Mountains. The map is characterized by a dense network of pack-and-horse trails through the Rio Grande National Forest, including the Wannamaker Trail and Coyote Trail, which provided access for ranching and surveying across the subalpine landscape.
