Old Dad Mtn dominates the northwestern landscape of this Mojave Desert region, where steep topographic relief gives way to the shifting sands of the Devils Playground. Compiled from 1978 aerial photography and field checked in 1980, this survey captures a rugged interior environment defined by the Kelso Mountains and the dramatic descent of Jackass Canyon.
