The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail winds along the high ridges of the Cochetopa Hills, marking the boundary between the Gunnison National Forest to the north and the Rio Grande National Forest to the south. This alpine landscape is defined by the broad drainage basin of the Saguache Creek system, where the N Fork Saguache Cr, Middle Fork Saguache Cr, and Little N Fork converge near the expanse of Saguache Park.
