Gypsum sits at the northern edge of this high-altitude landscape, where residential developments like Hearthstone and Bucktail meet the ascending slopes of the White River National Forest. The geography is defined by significant elevation changes, rising from the valley floor to the prominent peaks of Suicide Mtn and Red Table Mtn. A complex network of drainage systems, including Gypsum Cr and Miller Cr, has carved numerous gulches such as Hardscrabble Gulch and Old Mans Gulch into the terrain.
