St. Marys occupies the southern edge of this Pennsylvania highland survey, where the deep drainage basins of Elk Fork and the Driftwood Br Sinnemahoning Cr define a landscape of steep hollows and high ridges. The map captures the meeting point of Elk, McKean, and Cameron Counties, centered on the high point of Jarrets Summit and the Wildwood Fire Tower. This area is marked by a complex network of forest roads and historical corridors, such as the Shawmut Grade Rd, which follows the contours of the high ground above Straight Creek.
