The Maricopa Co Pinal Co boundary cuts vertically through this desert landscape, where high elevations and complex drainage systems define the regional geography. Rising significantly above the surrounding terrain, Antelope Peak and the Table Top Mountains dominate the eastern and southern portions of the quadrangle. These peaks are part of a rugged chain that includes the Table Top summit, surrounded by a network of ephemeral watercourses like the prominent Vekol Wash that moves through the western flats.
