Little Colorado River carves a deep, winding path through the desert landscape in this late twentieth-century survey. The terrain is defined by dramatic geological features such as the Gorge and numerous drainages including Straight Canyon and Cedar Canyon. Much of the territory falls within the Navajo Indian Reservation, with the southwest corner showing a portion of the Kaibab National Forest.
