Coconino National Forest defines this high-desert landscape in northern Arizona, where the terrain is carved by deep drainage systems and an extensive network of water management features. The area is characterized by significant topographical relief, most notably seen in the winding descents of Grapevine Canyon and Kinnikinick Canyon in the southern portion of the quadrangle. To the north, Wallace Canyon cuts through the elevation, while Buffalo Range Rd provides one of the few established routes across the upper plateau.
