The Trout Creek Mountains dominate this high-desert landscape in 2014, straddling the border of Harney and Malheur counties. This remote region of southeastern Oregon is characterized by a complex drainage system that feeds numerous small-scale water management projects, including Tadpole Spring Reservoir, Disaster Peak Reservoir, and Rough Hole Reservoir. The water network is anchored by McDermitt Cr and its various forks, along with Willow Cr and Fifteenmile Cr.
