The Pueblo Mountains dominate the western edge of this landscape, descending sharply into the wide expanse of the Pueblo Valley. This high-desert terrain is defined by a complex network of seasonal drainages and marshy lowlands, most notably the Pueblo Slough which meanders through the center of the quadrangle. Human presence is concentrated around the Colony Ranch, where Colony Cr meets the valley floor.
