Damnation Peak and Oakes Peak stand as the primary vertical landmarks in this high-elevation wilderness within North Cascades National Park and the Mount Baker National Forest. The landscape is defined by an intricate network of drainage basins, where Bacon Cr and its tributaries, including E Fork Bacon Cr, carve through the complex terrain. Numerous alpine water bodies are dispersed throughout the survey, from the cluster of Blum Lakes in the northwest to the isolated Berdeen Lake and Triumph Lake. The boundary between Whatcom and Skagit counties traverses the southern portion of the sheet, cutting across Damnation Cr and the slopes below Oakes Peak. This area remains largely undeveloped, with the map recording the natural drainage patterns of Falls Cr, Steelhead Cr, and Jumbo Cr as they flow through these protected federal lands.
