Delaware and Mandan anchor this survey of the northern Keweenaw Peninsula, reflecting the persistent footprint of the copper mining era. The map traces the dramatic transition from the Lake Superior shoreline at Agate Harbor and Grand Marais Harbor up to the high ridges of the Copper Country. Dominating the central topography is the long spine of Brockway Mountain, followed by Shore Drive as it winds through Esrey Park and past Agate Point.

South of the ridge, the landscape drops into a dense network of inland waters and drainage basins, including Lake Bailey and Partridge Lake, which feed the southern-flowing Montreal River.
