Devils Hole serves as a focal point for this 2012 survey of a unique hydrogeological landscape in Nye County. The area is defined by a dense concentration of desert springs and seeps, including Fairbanks Spring, Rogers Spring, and Mexican Spring, which feed into Carson Slough. This water network supported a history of remote desert ranching, evidenced by the Peterson Ranch, Fox Ranch, and the Japanese Ranch.
