Snoqualmie River meanders through this landscape, defining the lowlands near Fall City where the river's path is marked by a complex series of cutoffs including Green Slough and Rutherford Slough. To the south, the terrain rises sharply into the heights of Tiger Mountain and Grand Ridge, where the Tiger Mountain Trail (Foot) and sections of Old RR Grade trace the legacy of early timber or transit routes. The settlement of Preston sits at the confluence where the Raging River cuts through the hills, supported by the presence of Upper Preston further south. Notable local institutions such as the Echo Glen Childrens Center and the Fall City Cemetery are clearly situated, while various gravel pits, a Quarry, and a Prospect indicate the area's geological and extractive history.
