The N Fork Little Wichita River winds through the southern portion of this Baylor County landscape, joined by tributaries including Coal Cr and Little Mountain Cr. This 2019 survey documents a largely undeveloped rural expanse where water drainage dictates the character of the terrain. To the north, a network of seasonal streams like Cottonwood Cr, Timber Cr, and Mitchell Cr cut through the plains, while Wolf Hollow provides a distinct topographical break in the southeast near the margins of Cowan Lake. A primary corridor for travel across this open country is maintained by the shared path of Highway 82 277, which bisects the quadrangle from east to west, connecting these remote reaches of North Texas.
