Hetch Hetchy Reservoir dominates this portion of Yosemite National Park, where the impounded Tuolumne River fills the lower reaches of the Hetch Hetchy Valley. The landscape is defined by massive granite formations and high-altitude water systems, including Harden Lake and the dramatic drop of Rancheria Falls along Rancheria Creek. Historically significant transport routes are preserved on the sheet, such as the Old Tioga Road winding through the southern sections and the Smith Peak Trail leading toward Smith Peak.
