Boulder City occupies the northwestern corner of this quadrangle, where the urban boundary meets the open expanse of the Mojave Desert. The landscape is defined by the dramatic shift from the flat floor of the Eldorado Valley to the rising elevations of the southern McCullough Range, a transition clearly visible in the contour density. A critical water source in this arid environment is documented at Water Plug Number Two Spring, located in the higher terrain to the east.
