Kokadjo serves as the central hub of this remote Maine landscape, situated at the head of First Roach Pond where the Roach River begins its westward flow. The settlement is the focal point for a network of logging and recreational roads, including Spencer Bay Rd and Sias Hill Rd, which provide access to the dense North Woods terrain. The hydrography of the area is defined by a complex system of waterways, most notably the Lazy Tom Stream Reservoir and its namesake Lazy Tom Stream, which winds south from Lazy Tom Pond.
