Death Valley National Park encompasses a significant portion of this high-desert landscape in Inyo County. The topography is dominated by the massive sand formations of the Eureka Dunes, which rise from the floor of the Eureka Valley in the northern reaches of the map. These dunes represent some of the highest sand structures in North America, situated in a remote basin between several distinct mountain systems.
