The landscape is defined by its complex drainage network, where the headwaters of Middle Fork Carnero Cr and S Fork Carnero Cr descend from peaks like Lookout Mtn and Storm King Mtn. Named high-mountain basins such as Royal Park, Mexican Park, and Sunnyside Park indicate the presence of traditional summer grazing lands or relatively level clearings within the timbered slopes.
