Metallak Mountain stands as a primary landmark in this northern reach of Coos County, New Hampshire. The landscape is defined by the winding course of Halls Stream, which forms a significant part of the drainage network in this borderland area. Along the western edge of the waterway, Hall Stream Rd provides the primary terrestrial access, tracing the valley floor.

Several smaller tributaries descend from the higher elevations to feed the main stream, including Jobbers Brook and Graham Brook.
