Mount Aire and the surrounding high-altitude terrain of the Wasatch National Forest define this 2017 survey of Salt Lake County. The landscape is characterized by a series of deep drainages and basins, including Alexander Basin and Mill A Basin, which feed the major waterways of Big Cottonwood Creek and Mill Creek. The settlement pattern here is sparse, focused on recreational and logistical points such as Reynolds Flat and the whimsically named Santa Claus Rock.
