Mount David stands as the central landmark of this high-elevation landscape within the Wenatchee National Forest, where steep drainages feed into the broad corridor of the White River. The topography of the White Mountains and Chiwawa Ridge dictates the flow of numerous tributaries, including Indian Creek and Panther Creek, which meet the main river near the White River Falls. A remote network of alpine water bodies like Lake Elsey, Indian Ponds, and Twin Lakes are scattered across the high basins, illustrating the glaciated character of the Cascades. The presence of White River Rd along the eastern bank of the river provides the primary access through this wilderness area, connecting the various creek mouths such as Canyon Cr and Sears Cr that carve through the surrounding ridges.
