The Nopah Range dominates the western half of this 2018 survey, rising sharply toward the 6,394-foot summit of Nopah Peak. This high-altitude desert terrain is characterized by steep contours and significant elevation changes, illustrating the dramatic geological transitions found at the edge of the Mojave Desert. To the east, the landscape flattens into the Pahrump Valley, a basin defined by intermittent drainage patterns and more level ground.
