Fort King Burial Grounds and a concentration of major cemeteries including Woodlawn Cem, Greenwood Cem, and Highland Memorial Park anchor the eastern outskirts of Ocala. This modern geographic portrait illustrates the interface between the urban growth of Ocala and the protected natural reaches of the Silver Springs State Park. To the east, the landscape transitions into the hydrological network of the Silver River and the broad expanse of Marshall Swamp, a terrain that remains largely undeveloped compared to the residential expansions of Silver Springs Shores and Montague.
