The San Ysidro Mountains dominate this borderland landscape, where the southern boundary of San Diego County meets the United States of America Estados Unidos Mexicanos international line. The terrain is defined by a series of steep drainages including Little Cedar Canyon, Sycamore Canyon, and Mine Canyon, which flow toward the southern valleys. High peaks such as Otay Mtn and Donohoe Mtn overlook the winding Tijuana River as it crosses the border.
