Saint Martin Bay and the northern reaches of Lake Huron define the southern edge of this Mackinac County landscape. The coastal community of Pontchartrain Shores sits near Pontchartrain Point, while the inland settlement of Simmons is situated further north along the Pine River. Much of the interior is dominated by the Hiawatha National Forest and lands managed by the Farm Service Agency Interest of Michigan, creating a terrain characterized by creek networks and small lakes.

Local history is marked by the presence of the Simmons Cem and Wequayoc Cem, which anchor the area's early settlement sites. Waterways such as Nunns Cr, Silver Cr, and Rock Spring Cr drain the forested lowlands, while Cedar Lake and Round Lake provide distinct landmarks in the eastern portion of the quadrangle.
