Dabob Bay and Quilcene Bay dominate this coastal Jefferson County landscape, where deep marine inlets are separated by the significant landmass of the Bolton Peninsula. To the west, the settlement of East Quilcene marks the interface between the tidal flats and the inland forests, situated near the mouths of the Big Quilcene River and Little Quilcene River. The geography is defined by prominent coastal features like Broad Spit and Long Spit, which push into the waterways of the Hood Canal.
