Harpswell Neck and its surrounding archipelago define this maritime landscape in Casco Bay. The peninsula terminates at Potts Point, overlooking the sheltered waters of Potts Harbor and the navigational hazards of Torry Rock Northwest Ledge. Settlement is concentrated at South Harpswell and on the larger islands, where several landings like Jenks Landing and Cliff Island Landing indicate the importance of waterborne transit between the mainland and the scattered coastal communities.
