1964 Map of South Scalp Creek

USGS Topo · Published 1965

About this map

Lake Francis Case dominates the eastern edge of this mid-1960s landscape, where the waters of the Missouri River Basin were being managed following the construction of Fort Randall Dam. Along its bluffs, the South Scalp Creek Recreation Area provides a point of entry to the massive reservoir. The terrain to the west is defined by the deep incisions of North Scalp Creek and South Scalp Creek, which carve through the plains toward the river.
