Standhope Peak rises as the central landmark of this high-elevation landscape on the border of Challis National Forest and Sawtooth National Forest. The 2020 terrain is defined by a dense network of alpine water bodies, including Wildhorse Lakes, Angel Lake, Moose Lake, and Betty Lake. The drainage systems of Wildhorse Cr and Fall Cr carve through the mountains, flanked by the Custer and Blaine county line. Human access is marked by the seasonal Wildhorse Road and the Waterfall Trail, showing how modern recreational and forest service infrastructure navigates the steep elevation around Pioneer Mtn and Broad Canyon. This map provides a detailed view of the hydrography at the headwaters of the Little Wood River, where glacial cirques hold secluded pools like Goat Lake and Baptie Lake.
