White River National Forest defines the high-elevation landscape of Eagle County in this 2016 record, dominated by the prominent peaks of The Seven Hermits and Hardscrabble Mtn. The terrain is deeply incised by a network of gulches and ridges, including the appropriately named Coffin Mtn and the sweeping Erickson Ridge. Water management is central to the area's utility, evidenced by the presence of numerous small-scale reservoirs and ditch systems such as McHatton Reservoir, Yates Reservoir, and the Love and White Ditch.
