Trapper Peak and North Trapper Peak anchor the southern reaches of this high-altitude landscape in the Bitterroot range. The terrain is defined by a dense network of alpine drainage systems, with the North Fork Trapper Creek and Little Tin Cup Creek carving deep paths through the highlands. Human modification of this wilderness is evident at several high-elevation basins where Kerlee Lake Dam and Tamarack Lake Dam regulate natural outflows.
