The Manitowish River and Flambeau River converge in this northern Wisconsin wetland corridor, where the sprawling waters of the Turtle Flambeau Flowage dominate the western landscape. This 2015 survey illustrates a densely hydrologic region characterized by numerous glacial lakes including Wilson Lake, Grant Lake, and the distinctive Hourglass Lake. The terrain is marked by isolated rises such as Bonies Mound, standing above a network of waterways including the Bear River and Springstead Cr.
