Evidence of resource extraction is scattered across the wetlands, with several Gas Wells and an Oil Well appearing near Truloix Point. The boundary between Orleans Parish and St Bernard Parish runs through the open waters of Alligator Bend, terminating near the prominent Alligator Point.
