Andover serves as the primary settlement on this recent survey, situated where the West Branch Ellis River flows through the valley. The terrain is defined by high peaks and strategic passages, including the crossing at Sawyer Notch and the steep elevation of Wyman Mtn. A significant portion of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail traverses the center of the quadrangle, winding past Moody Mtn and Hall Mtn before descending toward the river valley.
