Ashley National Forest dominates this section of Duchesne County, where the high-altitude landscape is defined by an intricate network of deep canyons and seasonal water sources. The terrain rises sharply toward Anthro Mtn and the dramatic Bad Land Cliffs in the southern portion of the survey. Essential water points such as Mine Hollow Spring and Nutters Spring are indicated within the branching drainages of Mine Hollow and Nutters Canyon.
