Ashley National Forest dominates this landscape in the western Uintah Basin, defined by a complex network of high ridges and deep drainages. The topography is anchored by the prominent Anthro Mountain, where several high-altitude trails such as Anthro Mtn 1 Trl and Anthro Mtn 3 Trl converge. To the south, the terrain drops sharply at the Bad Land Cliffs, a significant geological transition point overlooking Alkali Canyon and Chokecherry Canyon.
