Sawtooth National Forest dominates this high-altitude landscape in the Smoky Mountains, where the boundary between Camas and Blaine counties follows the winding ridge lines of the Idaho batholith. The terrain is defined by prominent summits including Baker Peak and Big Peak, which overlook a complex network of glacial cirques and drainage basins. High-elevation lakes such as Baker Lake, Big Lost Lake, and Smoky Lake sit at the headwaters of numerous creeks, including the W Fork Big Smoky Creek and Norton Creek.
