The Nestucca River and Tillamook River systems define the geography of this portion of Tillamook County. The small community of Beaver serves as a central hub, situated where several creeks converge and the Oregon Coast Highway passes through. The landscape is a mosaic of public and private land, much of it contained within the Siuslaw National Forest. Local history is visible in features like the Beaver Cem and remnants of the timber-and-agricultural economy represented by Old Mill Rd and Green Timber Rd. The topography is marked by significant drainage networks, including Munson Creek, which leads to the notable Munson Creek Falls in the northern portion of the quadrangle. Other small settlements such as Hemlock and Pleasant Valley further establish the 21st-century settlement pattern of these narrow river valleys.
