The northern edge of Luce County meets the vast expanse of Lake Superior in this recent survey of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The landscape is defined by the complex hydrology of the Two Hearted River, which meanders through wetlands and sandy plateaus before reaching its mouth. The interior is a mosaic of small glacial lakes, including Pike Lake, Barclay Lake, and Round Lake, many of which are connected by a network of seasonal and local roads.
