Gifford Pinchot National Forest dominates this high-elevation landscape along the border of Lewis and Skamania counties. The terrain is defined by a series of prominent volcanic features and ridges, including the distinct peaks of Castle Butte and Twin Sisters in the northwest, and Cold Springs Butte to the northeast. Water drainage is channeled through the N Fork Cispus River and its numerous tributaries like Blue Lake Cr and Siwash Cr.
