About this map

The timberlands and hills of eastern Maine are defined here by a series of prominent ridges, including Sam Rowe Ridge and Sheepskin Ridge, that divide the drainage of the Mattawamkeag River and Baskahegan Stream. The settlement of Prentiss lies at the intersection of local roads in the north, while Carroll is situated further south along Lee Rd. This terrain is characterized by its high concentration of glacial features, from the low-lying Lindsey Bog and Lowell Lake to the elevations of Bowers Mtn and Weatherbee Hill.
