Brandy Pond and its surrounding wetlands form the center of this hydrographic study along the border of Penobscot and Hancock Counties. The landscape is defined by a dense network of watercourses, including the meandering Buffalo Stream and Little Buffalo Stream, which drain the lowlands between several prominent elevations. Significant topographic markers include Lord Mtn in the north and Buffalo Hill to its south, while Baker Hill and Spaulding Ridge anchor the central and western portions of the quadrangle.
