Little Tavern Cr and its many tributaries, including Kenser Cr and Atwell Cr, define the drainage of this interior Missouri landscape at the convergence of Miller, Maries, and Pulaski counties. The settlement pattern is largely rural and dispersed, centered on small communities such as Brays, Traderight, and Atwell. Local roads such as Brays Church Rd and Tavern Creek Rd follow the high ground between the creek valleys, connecting isolated farmsteads and historic family sites.
